A Postdoctoral Associate position is immediately available in the Infectious Disease Pharmacokinetics Laboratory (IDPL) (https://idpl.pharmacy.ufl.edu) in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research, College of Pharmacy, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. The IDPL is a CAP-certified, CLIA-licensed lab and measures different antimicrobials concentration using LCMS. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to work on a clinical trial investigating the association between the beta-lactam infusion modalities and the emergence of resistance and therapy outcomes in critically ill patients. This research involves precision dosing and beta-lactam therapeutic drug monitoring which is performed at the IDPL. They will be responsible for screening for and recruiting patients in the ICU, tracking the clinical samples to make sure they are ordered and transported appropriately, review the billing charges on Epic and OnCore for study participants, working with the fiscal staff to ensure proper invoicing for study procedures and reimbursements for enrolled patients, collecting and maintaining study information using electronic databases, assisting in preparing study-related documents and maintaining study files for IRB and HIPPA compliance. In addition, they will perform clinical and laboratory-based studies in infectious diseases under the direction of Drs. Alshaer and Peloquin. Other responsibilities include presentation and publication of research results, participation in other scholarly activities as they arise, and assistance with didactic, clinical and laboratory-based teaching. The candidate is also expected to attend departmental seminars and other activities of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research.
