Veterans Affairs Residencies and Information

Dear Resident Candidate:

There are several ways to access information in the Veterans Affairs (VA) for residencies.  You will find VA has the finest residencies in the country and offer so many residencies to choose from that will meet your professional goals whether it be a PGY1, PGY2 or both.  Each site may be found here with points of contact to ask questions of and receive information.  I would consider broadening your search across the nation as we are the largest training program in the country and have programs that might offer you the ability to early commit to PGY2 programs, especially if your goal is to be specialized in a particular practice in Pharmacy.

There are several ways to review programs in VA, but consider other sites as well.  It depends on your professional goals.:

  1. Attend MCM and visit the Showcase booths for all these programs
  2. Virtually Attend the VA-Indian Health Services Virtual Showcase booths for all these programs December 7th & 8th  VA Pharmacy Residency Program – Pharmacy Benefits Management Services
  3. Go the PBM SharePoint site to view brochures VA Pharmacy Residency Program – Pharmacy Benefits Management Services
  4. Call sites and ask about their programs (use the ASHP residency directory and contact RPDs directly)
  5. Check YouTube for these programs (some may have their programs here)

Good luck on your decisions for a VA residency.  I know you will find a residency that will meet your professional goals.

All the Best,
