What you’ll do: As a Compounding Pharmacist at Taylors, you will be joining a team of highly skilled and experienced pharmacists. You will be trained on our compounding pharmacy processes from start-to-finish, including taking scripts and talking to doctors & veterinarians, advising patients, checking scripts for accuracy, overseeing compounding production, instructing pharmacy technicians in compounding protocol, researching new formulas, and keeping up to date with the latest regulations. You are detail-oriented but have an eye for the big picture – you always see areas for improvement and can make it happen.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
• Learn all aspects of sterile and non-sterile compounding activities including verifying prescriptions, validating new formulations, updating existing formulations, checking batch records and compounded products for accuracy and quality.
• Build relationships with veterinary and doctors’ prescribers.
• Answer calls from both human & veterinary patients about medication questions and concerns with empathy; going above and beyond for each customer.
• Answer questions from the technicians about prescriptions, customers, and processes
• Check to make sure all compounds are accurately weighed, measured, and mixed ingredients during the compounding process per master formulation instructions and standard operating procedures
• Ensure compounds are prepared in accordance to master formulation instructions and that all relevant compounding guidelines and quality standards are maintained
Skills You’ll Need:
• Willingness & eagerness to learn veterinary compounding, including the most common animal diseases, medications and typical dosages uses both commercial and compounded.
• Highly detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and the highest quality products.
Position Requirements
Education & Experience:
• PharmD (Compounding Elective – Preferred)
• Current Florida Pharmacy License, actively working towards Florida License, or Graduate Intern
Work Location: In person @ 1021 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, Florida 32789 Schedule: 8AM-4:30PM/weekdays + occasional Saturday 9AM-1PM (offset by half day) Salary: Competitive Salary Benefits: 401(k) with employer matching, medical & dental & vision insurance, life insurance, employee discount, paid time off, company holidays & professional development assistance.
