Description of the Position or Event
The goal of the pharmacy internship program is to familiarize future pharmacists with the medication reconciliation process and to provide insight to pharmacy interns regarding inpatient pharmacy operations. The program aims to deliver a broad exposure to pharmacy practice including the roles of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. Staffing will primarily consist of medication reconciliation on admitted patients in the emergency department, with opportunities to train in additional areas as the intern progresses through the curriculum. Additionally, interns will have professional development opportunities throughout the program.
Position Requirements
– Enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
– Licensed as a registered pharmacy intern in Florida.
– Availability to staff two 8-hour shifts every 4th weekend, with additional availability during the initial training period
