Applications for the 2026 Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Summer Camp program are open, and we are eager to share a wonderful opportunity for students who may be interested in volunteering as counselors. As you may know, MDA Summer Camp provides kids ages 8-17 diagnosed with neuromuscular diseases the chance to experience a life-changing week filled with fun, adventure, and friendship—all at no cost to their families. This camp enables kids to just be kids in an environment where they can connect with others facing similar challenges.
MDA Summer Camp is made possible by volunteer counselors who provide essential support to campers as they participate in adaptive camp experiences, games, dances, mealtimes and more. In addition to bringing joy to campers, this fantastic opportunity allows students to gain valuable field-based experience in medical professions, education, recreation, and social sciences. Counselors can earn over 140 hours of volunteer service while gaining meaningful, real-world experience.
