As of 2026, Ascension provides care in 19 states and the District of Columbia. Our core regions include: Midwest (WI, IL, IN, MI, KS), South
(TX, AL, FL, TN, OK), and Mid-Athlantic (MD, NY, PA, Washington D.C.). However, Ascension serves all 50 states through its expanded virtual care and specialized pharmacy networks.
Recent Growth & Acquisitions:
In 2025 and early 2026, Ascension shifted its strategy toward ambulatory care and outpatient excellence.
● The AmSurg Megadeal (2026): Ascension recently completed a $3.9 billion acquisition of AmSurg,
adding over 250 ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) across 34 states. This move makes Ascension the
3rd-largest ASC platform in the country
● Specifically at Ascension St. Elizabeth, plans are underway for construction of two community pharmacies located within the hospital in which a Meds-To-Beds Program will be developed

Program Highlights
● Stipend: $55,000
● Rotations: 6 Required, 3 Elective (including Emergency Medicine, Advanced Oncology, and Advanced Critical Care options).
