Description of the Position:

The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for advancing clinical services, optimizing medication use, and improving patient outcomes across the continuum of care. This position provides the opportunity to lead innovative clinical programs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, influence medication management strategies, and mentor the next generation of pharmacy professionals.
The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical pharmacy initiatives while helping to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use throughout the facility. In the absence of the Pharmacy Director, this leader will also assist in overseeing pharmacy operations and supporting departmental performance.
Responsibilities include:
– Lead the design, implementation, and management of clinical pharmacy programs that enhance patient care and medication safety.
– Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and healthcare leaders to promote evidence-based medication practices and improve clinical outcomes.
– Monitor and optimize medication therapy by identifying contraindications, drug interactions, allergies, and opportunities for therapeutic improvement.
– Champion formulary management initiatives, promoting cost-effective and clinically appropriate medication use while minimizing non-formulary utilization.
– Develop and analyze drug utilization reviews (DURs), identify opportunities for improvement, and implement action plans to drive measurable results.
– Build, mentor, and expand clinical pharmacy services
– Lead and advance the Antimicrobial Management Program (AMP) to support quality care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
– Develop policies, procedures, and educational initiatives that support best practices across the healthcare system.
– Partner with key stakeholders to implement strategic clinical initiatives and support departmental goals, quality metrics, and operational excellence.
– Serve as a mentor and resource for pharmacists, residents, technicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
Position Requirements
– B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy is required.
– Active Registered Florida State Board of Pharmacy license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy Required
– Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or PGY-2 Residency or at least 3 years of pharmacy experience preferred
– Specialty BPS certification is preferred.
