Moffitt Cancer Center Specialty Pharmacy: P2 Intern Opening

Moffitt Cancer Center Specialty Pharmacy is seeking an incoming P2 Pharmacy Student to join our team as a Pharmacy Intern. Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, the intern will support clinical and operational activities within the specialty pharmacy, gaining valuable hands-on experience in oncology and specialty pharmacy practice.

This opportunity offers exposure to specialty medication management, patient care coordination, and pharmacy operations while contributing to the delivery of high-quality care for patients with complex treatment needs.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing and reviewing specialty prescriptions
  • Assisting with prior authorizations and financial assistance programs
  • Coordinating medication access and distribution for limited-distribution and high-cost therapies
  • Providing patient education regarding specialty medications
  • Monitoring patient therapy, medication adherence, and adverse effects
  • Supporting clinical documentation and outcomes tracking
  • Assisting patients with the management of complex treatment regimens
  • Maintaining records and reports in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Completing documentation and operational processes required by the health system and specialty pharmacy accreditation standards

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program
  • Incoming P2 pharmacy student
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in specialty pharmacy, oncology, and patient-centered care
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
